Have you ever heard the saying "Temperature is a state of mind" ? According to my own personal experiences, this is in fact, partially true.  It is the simple idea of not focusing on it.  Therefore, you can shift your mind to think of something else and surely enough you will find that you will forget about it - and suddenly it's not extreme anymore!  (I know this doesn't apply to natural disasters, okay).

This method can also be applied to life as well.  Believe it or not, you can mold and shape your life to look as sunny as you want or as cloudy as you want.  Really, you can.  You can choose to pick at all the faults and negativities surrounding you, or you can choose to focus only on the positive things that give you good energy to move forward through the struggles that life loves throwing at you.  You can choose to label a problem as a "problem", or you can choose to label the "problem" as an opportunity for learning and growth.   You can choose to dwell on everything that is wrong in your life, or you can choose to to focus only on the solution of how you're going to get out of your present hell hole.

Birth is not a choice.  Life is.

Successful people don't focus on their obstacles, but the sweet goal ahead.  A hundred trips and falls will not break them - only help them stronger in tolerating pain and avoiding bad situations in the future.  You can become great problem solvers and thinkers if you choose to face hindrances with strength and courage.  Running away from your fears or things that stir up bad emotions or just saying "f it" will not lead you to  overcome it.  Face it. Learn from it. Then conquer it till you win.

I would rather be faced with the truth in pain than to be happy in my own delusions.

For the most part, life is a state of mind.  You can justify anything if you find the right evidence for it.  Therefore, if life is bad in your eyes, you're probably right.  On the other hand, if life is joyous, you're probably right too.  The choice is all yours to make.

In the meantime,

Live, laugh, love, learn.
